Worried?

Is anyone else out there getting paranoid over the Doomsday-like predictions of an inevitable pandemic from avian influenza?

Mark told me that some experts are predicting that up to a quarter of the population could die. My mother said she heard 50 percent! They are saying that we could run out of food, clean water, have no electricity, etc. People who work at the Center for Disease Control are reportedly stocking up on non-perishable food items and water so that they can essentially hibernate at home.

I do not want to believe this could happen, but do I want to take that chance? My husband is a believer in "better safe than sorry". I know he will be as prepared as he possibly can be.

Obviously, if half the population dies, it would greatly affect the way we all live. Anyone else worried or planning?

I refuse to think about this! If 50% of us die there is no way any of us can be adequately prepared with out throwing our current lives into a tizzy! So nope! I will not think about it.

I have always kept a well-stocked pantry. I think it's a good idea now more than ever. Can't hurt.
