Connections

The "blog world" is a funny thing. I feel like I have friends out there whom I have never actually met. There are several blogs I read regularly. Some are people I know, some are not. One in particular has held my attention lately.

Suzanne Catchings Motes was a young woman with a loving husband and a beautiful little boy. They will have to somehow learn to go on without her now. She passed away yesterday after a courageous battle with cervical cancer.

I heard about Suzanne from my dear friend Stephanie. Stephanie goes to church with Suzanne's parents in Waco, Texas. I was there several weeks ago and we all prayed for Suzanne. The news at that time seemed positive, but a couple of weeks later that changed. She is now free from pain and is whole again.

I saw Suzanne's mother Suzie with Ryan from a far in a parking lot the other day. My first thought was "Oh how sweet! She has Ryan in town. I wonder why?" Then it hit me like a ton of bricks. His mother is dead. Tears kept me from getting out to say "Hi!". I just had to drive off. (Ryan is such a beautiful little boy. I mean BEAUTIFUL!) I barely knew Suzanne and it still really gets to me. I think when we see that kind of loss and pain we are all connected whether we know eachother or not.

Hope the storms I am reading about missed you! :)

I went to high school with Suzanne. We played volleyball together and graduated in 1989. The funeral was bitter sweet. There were SO MANY people. I am heart broken, but blessed to have known her. Thanks for your post.
