I do not have any deep thoughts today. I have a question. Here goes: Why can they not make Jello Instant JELLO? There is Jello Instant Pudding, why not Jello? I know I can buy it in those expensive little cups, but that would take all the fun out of "making" something for my 4-year-old. Yesterday he went to the pantry and pulled out a box and asked if we could make this raspberry Jello. Sure, why not, I thought. I explained to him that it would take 4 hours to be ready, but he still wanted to do it. Of course he has no concept of how long 4 hours is. I told him it would be ready close to supper time. Roughly an hour later he asked me if we could check on it. No harm in that, right? Ha! Unknown to me, he had already "checked" on his Jello. He had also spilled much of it in the spare refridgerator and onto the laundry room floor. Ugh!
So I cleaned the fridge (which I needed to do anyway) and started wondering about Jello. Four hours is FOREVER in the life of a child. I could make it at night and tell him he could have it the next day, but I just know he would wake up and want Jello for breakfast. I am not a health nut, but that does not seem like a nutritionally sound breakfast.
So now that is off my chest. Whew! I feel better. Jello anyone?

Woman...Didn't your mama ever teach you to add lots of gelatin to the jello for a fast set!? We will have to try that while you are here!

You mean to tell me that you can make your own Jello?!!! And I thought they only did it as a trick with Bill Cosby. Man, I'm gonna have to try this "Jello making phenomenon" ~ how do the colors do if they are mixed together? I'll be eating brown reasp-straw-blue-grape-berry jello in... well several hours if it takes so long to make! :)
