Spring is Springing All Around.

I love Spring. The weather gets warmer, things start to grow. I just love it.

A couple of days ago, as Mark and the boys were leaving for school, Jonathan ran back in to the house and said "Mama, come quick." He want me to see that we had a daffodil blooming in the front flower bed. I noticed today that all the trees in the back yard have buds on them. Then later this morning we went on a little hike near the Arkansas River. It was wonderful. (Except for the part where I fell down and hurt myself.) We saw all kinds of things starting to put out new growth.

We walked the Tollantusky Trail.

We took Corky with us. We all enjoyed the walk and the views.

Overlooking the Arkansas River. Near here was a stop on the Trail of Tears. Got in a little history lesson for the boys.

See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come.” Song of Songs 2:10-12

Arkansas has some nice hiking areas and I think it would be surprising to some what a beautiful state it is - at least in the northwestern reaches where I've been. What a great way to spend time with your kids.
