Today was another excellent day. Mark got home in time for us all to have lunch together at home. Then we all went to the pool. The boys played while Mark and I read and talked. Eventually Mark joined them in the pool. Both boys have really learned to love the water. They had each had a little fear of the water at one point or another in the past. Now you cannot get them out.
Finally we left and made a quick stop at the grocery store before heading home. Mark grilled steaks and zucchini, and put together a tomato and mozzarella salad. I made mac-n-cheese for the boys and prepared some avocados. It was all very yummy. We decided to have dinner on the patio while we listened to music from my iPod. We enjoyed ourselves very much. We had ice cream and fresh peaches for dessert.
After we cleared the dishes, we all went out and lay on the trampoline and look at the stars. Silliness is par for the course for us, but Mark tried to point out stars and constellations to the boys. We saw the big dipper and imagined we saw some others. As we got sillier and louder, I worried what the neighbors would think. Mark again tried to be educational. He asked the boys, "Can you name that planet?" And Jackson, at the top of his voice, answered "Uranus?". I nearly got hysterical. And the thing is, he did not even get it! If you don't, try saying it out loud.
